THE PIPES OF CHRISTMAS COMES TO SUMMIT and THE DEBARY INN
From the bold sounds of the bagpipes and the harmonious blending of brass, strings and percussion, to the poetic and lyrical words that complement them, the Pipes of Christmas is a festival for the soul.
Featured performers have included the Kevin Ray Blandford Memorial Pipe Band from Redlands, CA, champion harper Jennifer Port from Golspie, Scotland, three-time New England Fiddle Champion, Paul Woodiel, and the Solid Brass ensemble.
Since making its debut in 1999, The Pipes of Christmas has played to standing room only audiences. Now a cherished holiday event, the concert provides audiences with a stirring and reverent celebration of the Christmas season and the Celtic spirit. Audience-goers return year after year to experience the program, many reporting that the Pipes of Christmas has become part of their family’s annual Christmas tradition.
Web streamed on Christmas Eve and Day; the concert has also received numerous awards for video production excellence. In 2020, the production went strictly virtual with a polished production filmed in Scotland and featuring some of finest performers in the Trad music scene including, Christine Primrose, Gillebride MacMillan, Raymond Bremner and Jamie MacDougall.
This concert is the Learned Kindred’s only fundraiser, generating their operating budget for the year ahead. In addition to supporting our world-renowned musicians and creative collaborators, this program is a special fundraising event to support our cultural outreach and scholarship fund. Donations of all sizes are welcomed.
