NJ State Fair Season is Here

State Fair Meadowlands is back with a lineup of new and favorite all-ages entertainment. This year’s program is packed with electrifying stunts and acrobatic acts, thrilling amusement rides, magicians, world class musicians, racing pigs and delicious fair food. Tickets for the State Fair Meadowlands, the summer’s largest, long-lasting New Jersey event of the summer, go on sale today. The Fair takes place from June 20 – July 7. Ticket prices start at $39.99.

Summit Celebrates Family Fun Night JUNE 13th

Thursday, June 13, 4-8pm

The annual Family Fun Night event hosted by Summit Downtown (SDI) will return for 2024 with exciting new entertainment and vendors, with a carnival-themed kid zone set to transform Beechwood Road and Bank Street on Thursday, June 13 from 4-8pm. The event promises to be a fun-filled evening for the whole family with an exciting lineup of activities and entertainment. All activities are free and include promotions and interactions from many of downtown Summit’s family friendly businesses.

Summit's Street Sounds Kicks Off June 6th

Downtown Summit will be alive with music from 5-8 pm every Thursday and Friday night in June & July. Over 50 musicians will be playing along the streets of Summit and only blocks away from The Debary Inn.

Enjoy a meal, shop downtown Summit Businesses, and enjoy the music. Visit the Promenade on Springfield Ave, filled with tables and chairs for outdoor dining and a place to sit and enjoy the music.

SUMMIT has PRIDE

Join us for our Fifth Annual Summit Has Pride event on Saturday, June 1, 2024 on Summit’s Village Green-just 4 blocks from The Debary Inn. The event will begin at 6PM with drag show featuring Octavia Anyae. This will be followed by a musical performance by Summit resident and former The Voice television series contestant Sabrina Dias at 6:45PM. The event concludes with the Boy Band Project in concert at 7:15PM.

The last Monday of May marks Memorial Day in New Jersey, a time of tributes, flags, parades, and wreath-laying ceremonies dedicated to those who gave their lives in service of our nation.

While Memorial Day marks the start of summer festivities, the heart of its observance lies in remembering and honoring the brave who sacrificed their lives for our country.

SUMMIT FARMER'S MARKET IS BACK!!

Offering fresh, locally sourced goods, the 31st season of the Summit Farmers Market began on April 28 at Park & Shop Lot #1, located at the corner of Deforest and Woodland Avenues-just 2 blocks away from The Debary Inn.

The market is open Sundays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. through November 19th, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., as well as on December 3rd and 10th. And December 17th, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Customers can enter and exit at the vehicle entrance on Deforest Avenue.

Visual Arts Center of New Jersey

The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey in Summit, only blocks away from The Debary Inn, has on display exhibitions that celebrate the Newark-based arts organization, Gallery Aferro, which recently closed after 20 years.

Through May 24th, the VACNJ's Main Gallery features, "Gallery Aferro: Dignity and Beauty," with works by Katrina Bello, Anjali Benjamin-Webb, Ruth Borgenicht, Amy Faris, Krystle Lemonias, Kara Lynch, Bud McNichol, Lisette Morel, and Steve Rossi. The Art addresses themes of family, loss, memory and place.
