Halloween in Summit and at The DeBary Inn
Spooky season has come to Summit, NJ and here at the DeBary Inn we have stocked up on all treats and no tricks. If you are in town for Halloween, there are a few events occurring downtown throughout the week. On Saturday, October 25, 2025 the Summit Downtown Community Programs and Summit Police Athletic League are once again co-hosting the annual Summit Halloween Parade. The fifteen-minute parade loop starts at 25 Deforest Ave and marches to the Village Green. After the parade is over, there is a costume contest, entertainment, and sweet treats to enjoy. They begin gathering at 2:45pm for the parade at 3pm. The festivities at the Village Green will be open until 5pm.
On Friday, October 31, 2025 don your costumes and make your way to downtown for Summit Trick-or-Treat at the local businesses. Going from 2:30-4pm, stop in at businesses with the purple Trick-or-Treat signs in the windows and make sure you bring a big bag for all the goodies you’re going to gather.
The DeBary Inn will be turning on its porch light for trick-or-treating on Halloween, so make sure to stop by and show off your spooky, scary, silly, or sparkly costumes in exchange for a treat (no tricks, we promise).
